I'm a San Francisco based game designer currently making rad content for the upcoming free-to-play Magic: the Gathering action MMORPG at Cryptic Studios. In nearly five years of professional experience, I've contributed to six titles spanning many genres; MMORPG, isometric puzzle dungeon crawler, third-person action-adventure, and real-time strategy. This diverse development exposure fostered a multiperspective approach to game design!
I strive to empower players with discovery, choice, and accomplishment. My experience creating mechanics from prototype to implementation has taught me to convey new ideas to players in ways that free them to credit themselves for their successes and failures rather than the designer.
I grew up primarily on Nintendo and PC games. My all-time favorites include Super Metroid, System Shock 2, Quake III: Arena, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and Metroid Prime. When I'm not working on a game or playing one with friends, I'm mountain biking, drumming, surfing or seeing some live music!
